Keep your flowchart current with auto layout

Overview

Auto layout tidies your whole flowchart in one click. After you add, move, or rework shapes, it realigns them and reroutes the connectors across the whole diagram, so you can keep your flowchart current without rebuilding it.

A) Tidy your flowchart with auto layout

Step 1: Make your changes

Add a step, rework a branch, or drag shapes around, right on the slide. Nothing to export or rebuild.

Step 2: Click auto layout

On the Lucen Flowchart tab, in the Layout group, click auto layout. It fixes spacing and connector routing across the whole diagram in one click.

Choose a direction (optional): click the arrow next to auto layout to pick how the diagram flows: auto detect (TD or LR), Top to bottom, Left to right, Bottom to top, or Right to left.

Tip: Auto layout is available anytime. As you keep building, run it again whenever the diagram gets cluttered.

B) What auto layout handles

  • Realigns shapes and evens out the spacing.

  • Reroutes connectors so they stay attached.

  • Keeps colors and fonts in line with your presentation's theme.

  • Auto layout keeps shapes in their lane when your diagram uses swimlanes.

Try this: Generate a flowchart with Lucen AI, drag a few shapes out of place, then click auto layout and watch it snap back into a clean layout.
