Lucen Timeline has moved from license keys to account-based licenses.
These instructions apply only to older versions.

Update Timeline → Download the latest version

Symptoms

You are certain Office Timeline Pro has been activated successfully on your machine. The Office Timeline Pro tab is visible on the PowerPoint ribbon, yet you can’t see any of the Pro plan features. There’s no Add Swimlane option in Edit Data, and no Swimlane templates in the built-in template gallery either.

Solution

Resolving Licensing Detection Issues If Lucen Timeline fails to detect your Expert license, you can resolve the issue by switching from a problematic Microsoft account to a local Lucen Timeline account.

Here’s how:

  1. First ensure you have the latest version of the Office Timeline Add-in installed.

  2. Make sure PowerPoint is closed.

  3. Open the Registry Editor. You can do that by simply searching for it in the Windows Search Bar. find-registry-editor

  4. From the Registry Editor, go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\OfficeTimelineEx hkey-current-user-software-officetimelineex

  5. Here, locate the "HideProFeatures" registry key and check what value it is by double-clicking on it. hide-pro-features-registry-key

  6. If the value is “True”, please change it to “False” and click OK. change-hideprofeatures-registry-key-to-false7. If the above steps do not resolve the issue, enable diagnostic logging to gather more information:

    • Right-click in the right pane of the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\OfficeTimelineEx registry path and select New > String Value.

    • Name the new value LogLevel and set its data to ALL.

    • Open PowerPoint, reproduce the issue, and then close PowerPoint.

    • Use the "Send Diagnostics Data to Lucen" tool to submit the logs:

      • Navigate to Start > All Programs > Office Timeline > Send Diagnostics Data to Lucen.

If this doesn’t solve your issue and you still can’t see the Pro features when you open PowerPoint, consider enabling diagnostic logging and submitting logs using the "Send Diagnostics Data to Lucen" tool as described above. If the issue persists, don't hesitate to contact us. Providing detailed logs and a description of the issue will help expedite the troubleshooting process. We’ll be happy to help!
