This article covers the Lucen Timeline add-in for PowerPoint on Windows. Using the browser-based app instead? See Lucen Timeline Online help.
Overview
In some corporate environments, user accounts may be restricted by group policies or security settings. In these cases, Timeline may appear to install successfully but may not function properly. Because Timeline installs per user, administrator rights are not typically required. However, certain security policies or restrictions may interfere with installation or add-in registration. Additionally, conflicts may arise if older versions of Office Timeline are installed, which can interfere with the functionality of Lucen Timeline.
Solution
Ensure that Timeline is installed in the user context and that no security policies are blocking installation or add-in registration. Additionally, ensure that any older versions of Office Timeline are uninstalled to prevent conflicts during installation.
Steps
Uninstall Older Office Timeline Add-ins Close PowerPoint. Open the Start menu, type Apps, and open Apps & Features. Locate "Office Timeline Free" in the list of installed applications, select it, and click Uninstall. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the uninstallation process.
