Overview
This article explains how to log in to your Lucen account, the single account you use across Lucen products, Lucen Timeline, Lucen Timeline Online, Lucen Track, and Lucen Flowchart, and your Account Center. What you see depends on whether you already have an account or are creating one.
Where to start
On the web: go to the Lucen login screen, or open your Account Center.
In a Lucen app or the PowerPoint add-in: open the Account menu and choose Log In.
Log in to an existing account
On the login screen, enter your email address and select Next, then log in the way your account is set up:
If you have a password: enter it when prompted. You're logged in.
If you use Google or Microsoft: choose Sign in with Microsoft or Sign in with Google, the same as before. No password or code is needed.
Existing customers are never asked for a verification code. If you are unexpectedly prompted for one, see Trouble logging in to your Lucen account?.
Forgot your password? Select Forgot password? on the login screen to reset it. Your email and account stay the same.
Create a new account
If you do not have a Lucen account yet:
On the Create account screen, enter your email address and select Next. (You can instead choose Sign up with Microsoft or Sign up with Google. If you already have an account, we recognize it and log you in.)
We email you an account verification code, sent by Lucen Software (via Microsoft) from [email protected]. The code is 8 digits and works for 30 minutes.
On the Enter code screen, type the code and select Next.
On the Add details screen, set your password, re-enter it, and select Next. You'll use this password to log in from now on.
That email is genuine, not phishing. Microsoft securely manages login for Lucen, so the code comes from a Microsoft address on our behalf. The email is Lucen-branded, so you'll know it's from us.
[email protected], showing the sender, subject, and the 8-digit verification code." width='905' height='1308' style='height: auto;'/>
Didn't get the code? Check your spam or junk folder, give it up to 90 seconds, then request a new one by selecting Next again. For the full checklist, see Trouble logging in to your Lucen account?.
Good to know
Your login is remembered for about two weeks, so you won't be asked to log in every visit during that window.
A verification code is only used when creating an account. Password and Google or Microsoft logins never use a code.
Troubleshooting
Most login problems have a quick fix. Here are the common ones. For the full guide, see Trouble logging in to your Lucen account?.
Forgot your password, or can’t log in: select Forgot password? on the login screen to reset it. Your email and account stay the same.
Signing in with Google or Microsoft isn’t working: refresh the page and try again, or open the login screen in a different browser.
Didn’t get your verification code (new accounts): check your spam or junk folder, give it up to 90 seconds, then select Next to request a new one.
Asked to log in again after updating the Timeline add-in: that’s expected after an update. Log in once and you’re set.
Unexpectedly asked for a verification code as an existing customer: you should not be. Follow the steps in the troubleshooting guide below.
